More Than A Fad

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr Day!! Celebrate our advancements as a nation and continue to strive forward.

I’m watching Oprah and her diet guru, Bob Greene, and his new plan. So far, the plan looks good. There doesn’t seem to be any unexpected. We’ve heard similar things often. It’s called The Best Life Diet. Good name of a plan and it coincides with Oprah’s live your best life. What a wonderful thing for all the companies involved. You can simply go to the store and buy food with the best life diet seal on it. Who would say no when a member of the Oprah team comes calling. However, what will become an overnight fad diet sounds like it will be helpful over the long haul. Hopefully, those motivated by Oprah’s endorsement will use this to help them achieve their goal.

The point of the plan is that it about your whole life not just a diet. The key to making this successful is more than just buying the food; you have to change the way you eat. The fundamental thing is the same thing you’ve heard before; eat fewer calories and exercise more. If we are creating our best life, diet and exercise can only be part of our lives. We overuse the word balance, however, we need to put diet and exercise in its proper place. If I’m trying to live a life that fulfills my life’s mission and is pleasing and acceptable to God, every day I need to focus on the bigger picture and the conquer the what I eat and how I move every day simply a part of the day. I’m working on the journey and making good decisions every day.<br>

Whatever I do every day has to become more than a fad, I have to commit to the goal every day. I’m going to test it out now as I head out to dinner.
