Food, Glorious Food

I must eat to survive. Some days I wish I could just give it up. It would make things so much easier. My choice would be whether to eat or not. I could eliminate deciding what to eat, how much, when and am I going to cook or buy it. Unfortunately, getting rid of eating is not an option..

I actually did very well today. I ate a smoothie that I made for breakfast, salad for lunch, stir-fry vegetables, salad and sardines. I did have a few snacks. In generally the snacks were not bad. I’ve bought some pre-packaged goodies. Some 100 calorie treats, some others that I think are somehow good for me. The problem with stocking my desk with all of these tasty items is that I can eat them. I think I’ve created a new habit that is on the verge of obsession. It feels like I can’t miss eating my little snack…which sometimes becomes a larger snack when I decide to have another. The extras can add up. The snacking might be a good habit, if controlled. I’m working on control everyday..

1 Thessalonians 5:5-6 (NIV).

5You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.
