I Am Not Forgotten
I have a new song running through my head today. The chorus is:
I am not forgotten
I am not forgotten
I am not forgotten
God knows my name.
He knows my name.
(Complete lyrics below.)
The Gospel Choir in my church sang this song yesterday. Not only do I love the song, the entire choir had such positive energy and wonderful smiles. They were simply contagious. The soloist did a great job and everyone appeared to be enjoying himself or herself. I was even more inspired to learn that Israel Houghton and Aaron Lindsey wrote I Am Not Forgotten about the people of South Africa. Listening to it was great. Listen.
My headphones are always plugged into my computer which gave the perfect opportunity to have the song playing off and on all day. When I wasn’t playing to it, I was singing inside my head. I had a little party at my desk all by myself. Of course, we all know that I am never really along. Not only does God know my name, he knows me intimately and has counted every hair on my head.
[Luke 12:6-8 (NIV) 6Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.]
Today’s song and yesterday’s were both very good for my run. And it was a good run. I definitely had to work at it, but it felt much better than it did last week and even yesterday. I actually ran twice today. I decided to accelerate my exercise plan by doing a week of two-a-days just as the professional football players do in preparation for their season. I’m getting ready for my new season and doubling up the exercise should help me reach my goal even faster.
Before you congratulate me, you should know that my morning workout was only 10 minutes and I didn’t even run the whole time. It was a start and as many say, "better than nothing."
I did good job with the food as well. I’m working on trading my afternoon grazing session with a little green tea. The benefits of drinking this antioxidant may help to reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. If I replace a cup of unsweetened green tea for the food I habitually eat every afternoon, I will reduce my caloric intake and help in the maintenance of a healthful body weight.

I Am Not Forgotten

I am not forgotten
I am not forgotten
I am
not forgotten
God knows my name.
He knows my name.
Light over
darkness
Strength over weakness
Joy over sadness
He knows my name
Father to the Fatherless
Friend to the friendless
Hope for the
hopeless
He knows my name
I will praise You
I will praise You
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
I am not forgotten
Never forsaken
