Please Be Patient With Me

1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own

I decided to run in the small exercise room at my apartment complex.  There was another morning exerciser on a treadmill when I arrived and she had left my favorite treadmill just for me.  Since the run was a little bit hard, I talk to myself, sang and focused on the time, distance and calorie displays.  The beads of sweat were having a party over my left eye.  They waited until enough of them gathered to push themselves over my eyebrow and take a slide ride over my eyelid, out to the edges of my lashes before landing on the treadmill.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed someone else enter the exercise room.  It seemed that she brought the cold in with her, but I looked up and notice that the blades of the fan had started spinning and were getting faster.  I couldn't believe it.  I had become invisible again and the woman walking next to me was invisible too.  This wasn't the first time this had happened.  A few weeks ago, I was alone when a guy came in and turned on the fan.  Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the fan, but it has to be on before I start sweating or I'm instantly freezing.  When that guy turned the fan on I was heated, not physically, though.  I had a little conversation with myself and held back all of the unkind words that I wanted to say to him.  By the time I got myself together, I had started to warm up and someone else entered who was talking to him.  My opportunity had passed...the first time.  This time, I simply looked up and said, "Excuse me.  Can you turn the fan off?  I'll turn in back on when I leave."  She instantly complied.  No problem at all.  Instantly James Cleveland's song "Please Be Patient With Me" popped into my head.

 Please be patient with me,
God is not through with me yet.
 Please be patient with me,
God is not through with me yet.
When God gets through with me,
when God gets through with me,
 I shall come forth,
I shall come forth like pure gold.

Good thing I knew that song.  It reminds me that I am getting better with God's help.  My quick pre-workout Bible study kept me on track and learning that song so long ago only helped.  My workout didn't suffer; it was probably got a little boost.  I felt good about handling everything well and not making it an issue.  The Holy Spirit in my temple had an opportunity to be revealed.
