Intervals

I've started an interval training plan to accelerate my fat loss.  I decided that I could run more intensely than I have been running and have read several articles that support the notion that varying the intensity of your workout will have dramatic impact on performance and fat loss.  I even found that the Mayo Clinic supported this perspective.  The great thing about interval training is that I don't even have to extend my workout.  My current plan is about 30 minutes on the treadmill.  I walk the first minute and followed by 4 minutes of running at a 9:30 minute mile pace.  Beginning with the 5th minute, I run bursts at 7:30 minute mile pace on a pryamid plan with about a minute walk in between each sprint.  What this means is I start with a :30 sprint followed by a minute walk then a :45 sprint.  I add :15 to each sprint until I get to 1:30 and then go back down to :30 before jogging a few minutes then walking again.

We'll see how this goes.  I think it should be great.
