Winning Over Weapons
Isaiah 54:17 (A) No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; (New American Standard Bible)
At about 5:30 PM yesterday, hunger tried to attack me. Not only was my stomach telling me I was in need of food, my head started to hurt. I usually have a healthy afternoon snack, but I left my house without it and was beginning to suffer the consequences. The closest food, the fastest food was in the vending machine one floor away. I knew there were no options that would be on my personally approved list of items and my waiting for the hunger to go away didn't actually work. So, I sent an e-mail to two of my sisters in the weight management challenge. They didn't have any way of getting food to me. I knew by simply by letting them know, I couldn't go on a vendor raid and eat everything inside. For a few minutes, I thought I was getting better. As the hunger pains started to get worse again, I decided to get up, leave my office, walk across my work campus to the cafe and buy...yogurt. I finished the yogurt long before I sat back in my seat. I had won over the weapon of hunger and no the best way to fight it off in the future is to be prepared. I've already made my lunch and snacks for today. No way am I going to have the same problem today.
