Desires of Your Heart

Psalm 37:4-8
4
Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. 7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. 8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.

If I truly delight myself in the Lord an obstacle is ahead of me become a low hurdle easily navigated.  My faith will grow and my trust will increase.  Sounds easy when reading the verse.  However, it is sometimes challenging.  Actually more the sometimes can become often.  Impatience can show up with the simple stuff and deprive you of your peace.  The annoyances can build to anger and cause a reaction less than holy.

What should we do?  Praise the Lord that he truly wants us to have the desires of our hearts.  Thank the Lord for his forgiveness and reconciliation.  Pray and meditate for spiritual focus.  Exercise in celebration of the body God have gifted to us and to work out any excess energy.
