Not Needy
Acts 4:34 There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales
Within moments of heading out for work yesterday, I had a car accident. It was a minor collision and I own the responsibility. No one was injured. Both cars were damaged. The damage on my car is well below my deductible. I was immediately annoyed. My good driving record is tarnished and I’ll have to come out of pocket for some cash. I couldn’t believe this actually happened to me. I was actually quite annoyed
I didn’t let it disturb my day. I couldn’t. There were so many other things to do and I managed to get them done. It was not until my drive home that I truly realized how blessed I truly am. On one stretch of parkway there were the flashing lights of police cars on the far left and the far right. The darkness of the night gave prominence to the red and white lights. When I glanced to the right I could see a car sticking out from the trees.
My little altercation was just that, little. We were all fine and the money that I will have to pay, while more than I’d like is really not much at all. I’m not a needy person and this accident didn’t change any of that at all. My health and well-being are all in God’s hands and I am blessed.
