A Little Test

James 1:2-3; 2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.

On my way home, I waited in the train station for about twenty minutes.  I like to enter the train station and get directly on a train.  Since I haven't taken the train recently, my timing was a little off.  With those twenty minutes of free time, I roamed around looking at all the food options I had available.  So many of them looked good and I was a little hungry.  Since I had a meeting at church to attend, I rationalized that I could get something now.  I may not have enough time before church.  I looked at the butter cover pretzels, moved to the popcorn, checked out the frozen ice and then the ice cream.  As I tried to decide what would be the best decision, I knew that none of these options were truly good.  The fact that I'm a part of the Gospel Fit Challenge did help guide me.  What should I do?  WWJD? Leave the scene and leave the food behind.  Fortunately, the train was coming into the station.  I headed to my seat and avoided the food.  I passed this little test and am better prepared for the next time.
