Perseverance Everyday

James 1:4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

I took a class at the gym today, which was my first in weeks.  I've worked out, but not in the gym.  I think I missed three weeks.  In that time away, I did aerobic activity and little strength training.  Finally getting back to lifting weights, even light weights requires a little more effort.  My upper body has always needed extra attention and taking time off hasn't helped.

The workout was good.  It was an aerobic weight session that means that by moving from one exercise to the next we took no breaks and keeping an elevated heart rate.  Such a routine works with light or medium weights.  My instructor had developed a routine that consisted of circuits that we repeated.  It was truly challenging.

The message is clear, I must be consistent and persistent for the changes I want to show up.  I need to keep on track when the rest of life seems to take over.  I must put taking of myself on the top of my list of priorities...everyday!  I'm planning for a new day.
