Move On, Already!!

Exodus 14:15 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.

I mentioned that there was more to address on this topic and I need to share it in order to really "Move On."

When you get a few moments, read the entire 14th chapter of Exodus.  You will see that the Israelites were following the will of the Lord, in the wilderness, fleeing the Egyptians when they became hostile and overcome with despair.  Moses attempted to encourage them and reminded them that God was in control and would save them.  However, they felt trapped and blamed Moses for their situation and spoke as if they actually wanted to return to slavery.  Really, they let their fear take over.

God's message to Moses was to stop praying and get moving.  The Israelites were to forget what was behind them and press on toward the goal.  They could not see how they would reach the goal and they were to trust in the Lord and know that He would deliver.  This trust is not a passive kind of trust where you just sit and wait.  In fact, they were called to act and demonstrate their faith.

To me, this speaks our fitness journey.  If you have had success in your past and our now facing challenges for the first time, you need to move on.  If you have never found the success you sought and don't know if you will this time, move on.  Move on even when it feels like you are in the wilderness and you can't even imagine how you are going to cross the sea ahead of you.  Know that you will get across to the other side.  It will require you to work with God, one step at a time.  The combination of action and faith will take you to places that you have never expected.

When it feels as if the path ahead is too difficult, remind yourself to move on.  Take one step and then the next.  Prayerfully, they will get easier or you will just get used to all the work it takes.

After my low weight loss day, I ready to move on.  I can't let that disappointment hold me back.  I simply have to push forward.  I'm moving on.
