Temporarily Shut Down
Ephesians 4:16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
I have great plans of working out and working out hard. I even have a plan of getting an extra workout in on a few days. Somehow, my plans are temporarily shut down. I have something trying to stop me. It started as a sort throat and has been met with congestion and general fatigue. Yesterday, I considered working out anyway and trying to sweat this body invasion out. I changed my mind after I walked to a meeting. I simply left one building, entered the next and climbed three flights of stairs. When I got to the top of the stairs, I felt as if I had already worked out. So, I considered the workout done and just went to sleep when I finally got home.
While this temporary illness is annoying and altering my plan, I know that my body is working to take care of itself which means my body is working together to take care of me. This little break in my workout plan feels like a detour, but I won't let it be one. I'm not even getting the benefit of losing weight while sick. I've been hungry the entire time. I still focused and moving in the right direction. Today, my steps on my path are just a little slower and a little shorter.
