Diligence In The Making

1 Timothy 4:15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.

I don't really know if I can consider myself as being diligent with my moring work out after only 2 days.  I will claim that it has happened and it will be so...as long as I get up in the am.  I've already stayed up longer than I've planned and writing this little entry is only extending my waking moments.

Since I feel I must share, let's get to the point.  The exercising thing is just not as easy as it used to be.  Age is really not the most important factor.  The fact that I haven't been consistent in my running is really the problem.  I'm at the beginning at my spring training.  Professional athletes have to get ready for the season.  They aren't in their top game shape every day.

The problem I feel now is I want to skip the needed steps in the middle and simply want to be at the point where I'm in great shape and running at a speedy pace.  I have to convince myself to enjoy the small advancements that I make, even when I don't make progress every day.  Small steps and more small steps and eventually I'll make huge advancements.  Of course,  I need to be diligent.
