Early In The Morning

Mark 1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

During this Gospel Fit Challenge, I was to get closer to my Divine Health goals while I encouraged others to do the same.  I did exercise and watch what I ate...even when it was ice cream or chocolate or both.  I've made slow process.  It has been much slower than I imagined.

By now, my inner diva is supposed to be exposed to the world.  I'm looking for greater definition and strength.  I've had more defined arms in the past and I always talked about them as fake muscles.  They looked good and I appreciated it, but they couldn't do more than lift the 3 pound weight I used to build them.  Now, I'm ready to a full set of 25 on your toes push-ups with my nose almost to the floor.  I think it is too bad that my body is not ready to cooperate.  The possibility is still there.  I can feel getting closer.  The closer is still a long way off.

One of the things I need to do more is get up early in the morning and spend more time in prayer and meditation.  I had a habit of running in the morning that is now gone.  In fact, I don't really know how my morning routine got to be so unroutine.   I do know that I have meetings and other work activities at various hours in the morning. My prayer and meditation life is continually getting better.  If I started getting up early in the morning, I could get it all in and start my day off on the right foot with direction of my conversation with God.

While the formal challenge is coming to the end, my personal challenge continues.  The challenge on the journey for Divine Health is more than diet and exercise.  It is also connected to the spirit and our walk and talk with the Lord that starts early in the morning and lasts late into the night...even if our bodies are in the bed the entire time.
