Hold Up My Hands
Exodus 17:11 As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.
I have a little competition going with one of my spinning friends. We have until July 31st to met our next goal. He is half-way to the mark. I've got more than 90% left to go. A little competition is motivating for me even though we have yet to figure out the prize. The other motivation is a pair of jeans that I was sure was going to fit. I pulled them up with little issue. However, when I attempted to get the right side and the left side to meet in the middle, it just wouldn't work. I was totally shocked. I thought I was making progress. Maybe, I have been. It just hasn't been enough. Maybe, I've been taking too many breaks. Putting on those jeans was a blessing. It gave me a clearer picture of the reality I face better than the scale or the measuring tape. Now I know exactly what I have to do.
Since I had gotten back on track, I need to stay there, I can win this battle. I will hold up my hands in praise along the way. It requires my commitment, focus, and even support. To win the battle, Moses was supported by others in the battle when he grew tired and weary.
Exodus 17:12 When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.
My friendly competition is actually some support. The real battle is not against him, rather I'm working to win my Divine Health. I intend to win. I'm getting ready to work-out now and will follow-up with a healthy breakfast and have another day on the path to better health.
Exodus 17:13 So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

You're right, I could be gaining muscle. Since I still think I have a good amount of fat to lose, I'm working on using this as encouragement to keep me on the plan.
Thanks!
