Commitment To The Goal

Jeremiah  29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I need a little change.  I'm looking for more diet and exercise success.  Before my little break, I had only been slowly moving in the direction of my goals.  Committing to my plan means the steps of my plan may need to change along the way.  The changes are duration, intensity and activity.  Am I working out for the appropriate time and number of days?  Am I working out hard enough?  Should I change what I am doing?  While I'm focusing on exercise here.  The same thing can happen with diet.  The body adjusts to the same thing every day for an extended period and needs some change to get a different outcome.

A plateau can be busted with a change in one or more of these areas.  I have to keep making the adjustments.  I've decided that I'll be doing more running.  Running has always been effective for me.  I just haven't been doing as much of it lately.  Now that the weather is decent and the days are long, I can get out and run outside before or after work.  Maybe, I should do both...or maybe, not.

My commitment is really not to the plan.  Rather, what I want is the goal.  I know God wants me to prosper in this and ever area.  I'll need to continue to seek guidance and adjust as I head toward my goal.
