I Got This!
Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
The message at church today was "I Got This!" Know that whatever is happening in your life, the Lord says, "I got this!" A powerful message to help move us forward in our lives. We do need to realize that as God is the Great Physician, we have to do our part. God has given us advice and written a prescription for us. We must take his instruction and act appropriately and our faithful God will do his part.
Now, I'm working on doing a better job of doing my part. I'm getting ready for my personal Training Camp Challenge. I'm taking my tortoise and hare philosophy and spending a little time getting ready a short period of more intense focus. Just as the NFL players are preparing for the work of the season, I'll be getting ready for my fall season.
The thing about training camp is that it is a defined short period of hard work. I'm not burdened with the thought that I have to keep up the exercise plan at the same level forever. Sometimes, it is simply the idea that the work will continue indefinitely that makes it hard to begin. This way, the work out becomes sort of an interval within my year. It will jump start me to the next level and help me get out of my current plateau. The reality of my plateau is that I could be doing a better job and be better focused. God is faithful and I should be more faithful and take his instruction.
This means my Training Camp Challenge isn't simply about exercise and diet. It is more focused on building my relationship with the Lord and following where he would have me to go. Being busy with life can easily cause me to keep my head down as I try to get the next thing accomplished. However, I should be keeping my head up more, more prayer and more meditation.
One thing I do know is that as I adjust to increase my effectiveness, God is with me and he's telling me, "I got this!" If you want to join my Training Camp Challenge, just drop me a comment and I'll forward the details.
