My Prayer Warrior Network
Philippians 1:4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy.
Do you have a team of prayer warriors to call on when anything in your life needs attention? I do. I might have not have been as confident that I had them or even needed them until someone was Disturbing The peace. Not only did my immediately family join in the prayers, friends and friends of friends started praying and still are praying. It is truly a prayer warrior network.
Simply knowing that other people are united with me in lifting me and my concerns to the ear of the Lord. We know that when we physically come together to share with the Lord there is a benefit. (Matthew 18:20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.") Even when we are not in the same space we know that God still hears our prayer.
In addition to having our prayers answers, the act of prayer itself reduces stress. Prayer is a sort of therapy without paying the therapist. Pray and go to the therapist, if you need to do so. Just don't forget to pray.
Praying for others can have the added benefit of helping to put our issues into perspective. Besides, you do want to pray for your prayer network. There is a circle of life giving and receiving relationship to prayer. When you see God delivering for others reminds you that the Lord will deliver for you.
There is one thing that you to be clear about when finding prayer warriors. You need ones with positive faith. I say positive faith because there are those folks out there who are certain that whatever will happen will be bad. Some of these people are looking for bad things to happen. I don't want those people praying for me.
If they can't have faith that God -- my miracle maker -- can change the situation for good, I don't want them praying for me. You've seen groups of people like this. They may say they have faith, but as soon as someone is in trouble or illness falls on another, there is nothing but negativity coming out of their mouths. They may pray, "If your will be done," but really don't think God could possibly answer the prayer. These people need our prayers. As we pray for their increasing faith, let us remember when God fortifies them our prayer warrior networks will be even greater.
