Fighting The Belly Fat
Exodus 14:14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.
I went running this morning and felt really good about it. It was a little over 3 miles. I had run about 7 miles on Sunday and my legs were a little achy the following couple of days. During and after this run, my legs felt pretty good. I'm well on my way to becoming a real runner again. I feel as if I've been faking it and only running enough to just say that I can. Now, my goal is to really get in gear and even run a few races and make some new personal bests.
After my little run, I was feeling pretty good. I managed to stop sweating before I got in the shower. I had a healthy smoothie for breakfast and packed my salad for lunch. I was off to a great start until I got ready to get dressed. I pulled out a suit that I hadn't worn all summer. Before I know it, it will be too cold to wear it. I pulled up the pants and noticed that the waist band button was missing. There was still a hook that I could use to close it. As I remember it, the last time I remember wearing these pants there were comfortable and a little loose. I managed to get the clasp closed. It seemed as if the folded over piece of metal was a bent hand grasping on to a rail and holding on for dear life. After staring at the straining hook and screaming in my head "BELLY FAT," I took off those pants and started all over again. Eventually, I was on the way to work and only a few minutes behind schedule.
The bulge under my belt is just not good. Belly fat increases early death risk. Others say that belly fat causes diabetes, heart attacks. Apparently, this belly fat causes inflammation that leads to almost disease. Obviously, I need to attack the fat. While I'd like to have six pack abs, I'll settle for flat abs. I guess I need to do more running and eating even better.
