I'm A Warrior
Exodus 15:3 The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name.
There are times I really don't want to work out. Getting myself to the gym or out in street to run can sometimes be more of a mental effort. On these days, I have to talk myself into showing up. I make the smallest little goal of putting one foot in front of the other just to get started. One thing that is really helpful is heading to the gym with a group or scheduling a gym date. (Although, I'm really talking about a friend date, I may need to consider making it a real date. It would definitely increase my options.)
Once I get to the gym or hit the street to run, I'm usually pretty good. In fact, I can be a little intense. Sometimes, I'm an exercise warrior. I like to work-out hard...most of the time. After getting started, I simply keep talking to myself and my work-out continues and often intensifies. Frequently, just getting started is enough for me to get the workout that I needed. The end of the workout is another great moment. I physically feel good; I've reduced my stress and cleared my head and the I have the satisfaction of accomplishing a goal.
Hopefully, I'll have enough of these days were I have to convince myself to go to the gym and they will be replaced by my habit of working out and the good feeling that I know I will get. It has happened before and I'm expecting it again.
