Getting My HDL Healthy
Psalm 73:4 They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong.
In June, I went to a screening at work and learned that my HDL was below the recommended level of 60. I wrote about Restoring My Healthy DL (HDL) and thought I was on the right track. Whatever I thought I was doing to help has not been enough. I went to another company sponsored screening and my HDL is now 19. It has gone in the wrong direction. I was even given a referral to see my doctor. My mother and sister want me to make sure I get a full blood test because this screening could have been off. I'm not counting on the results being wrong. I will be making that appointment shortly. In the meantime, I need to make sure that I get real with myself.
I'll be diligently tracking what I eat every day as I work to further improve my diet. No longer can I discuss what I'm doing based on what I think, I need to have data on my diet and exercise so that I can make a plan that is impactful and will get me to where I need to be. I'm planning on living a Divinely Healthy life for years to come and reducing my heart disease risk will help me to do so.
Increasing my HDL is a positive way to improve my odds and reduce my risk. Once I get the detailed report and work with my doctor, I'll be continuing to adjust my plan. I'll keep telling you how the plan is going and sharing information that I get along the way.
