Pick Up My Cross
Luke 9:23 Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
I'm back on this same theme and today, I'm focusing on picking up my cross daily portion of the scripture. I think using this statement to focus on my Divine Health, my daily cross can apply to both my eating plan and exercise. If I want to display the love of God that a follower would, I should be striving to the goal daily. It might sound easy and yet, it is not that easy. On this daily journey, the Jesus I seek to follow will support me along the way. I don't have to do this alone. I definitely need support from the Lord and from others. I wish diet and exercise were easy for me and for so many others who are working toward Divine Health. The Divine Health is only one small part of the Divine Life that I seek.
If I act with the end in mind, my actions should line up. By that I mean what I do should have the possibility of causing the results I want. If I find that I'm heading further away from my goals rather than closer to it, I need to change course. I need to evaluate what I am doing daily. A journal is a great way to keep track and I have a journal. In fact, I have many journals. I'll just have to increase the writing in the journals. As I modify my plan, I'll be looking to make improvements every day and to keep track of my progress.
