You're a Speci-woman of Health
I went to yet another company health screening. After my finger was pricked and my blood pressure taken, I was told that I am a speci-woman of good health. I'm happy that my numbers are making a positive move. However, I'm not certain I'm a happy as the health care worker who analyzed my numbers. For the record, my numbers are:
- Blood Pressure - 109/65
- Pulse - 63
- Total Cholesterol - 189
- HDL - 49
If you read my two previous entries on my HDL, Getting My HDL Healthy and Restoring My Healthy DL (HDL), you know that I'm working toward an HDL number above 60. My research tells me that 60 is the number women should work to achieve. Since my HDL had dropped to 19, I'm making good progress. My fatty fish, flax seed and berry eating ways have been helpful. Now, I need to determine how I can fine tune my plans even more. Let me just say that Salmon is my friend. Of course, that is wild salmon. We need to limit our consumption of the farm raised version.
