Muffin = Cake

During social hour at my church, a healthy friend questioned why my sister, Jill was eating cake when she was eating a muffin.  She really thought that her muffin was a healthy option.  Sometimes, you should choose the real cake over the fake cake.  Her cake was about 310 calories and the muffin was more than 600 calories.  If you have to choose, my vote is for the cake.

 My sister looked up the information to help our Christian sister know the truth.  Here is the info for you below.

Muffins, are yummy, but not different from cake   See below for some info.  I looked up some items, to use as estimates. I found a few sites with similar info.  But
http://www.livestrong.com is where these numbers come from.

Cake (I used Betty Crocker info) about 310 calories per slice (170 for the cake+140 for the frosting).

The info for BJs corn muffin came from http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/b-j-s-corn-muffin-404585
note that it lists a serving size as 1/3 of the muffin.  So if you only eat 1 serving (1/3) it's only 190 calories...but you had a half...so that means you had 288 calories...still more than my slice of cake....oh hold it, I only had 1/2 a slice, Kris had the other half...and I only ate a lil over half of my half.  So I had less than 155 calories..compared to your 288.  Ok, so now my point is proven...muffin = cake.  Not that you should get alarmed...you have done enough walking to cover your muffin eating ...and no I still didn't cover my cake eating.  But just wanted to keep you informed...you should know I'm an expert on CAKE!
