Praying for the Day

Hebrews 5:7 During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.

When we remember that Jesus prayed, we must realize that we must pray.  We should have the same knowing that Jesus had that God answers prayer.  The answer we receive can be yes, no or not now.

The "not now" seems to be the most difficult for us to receive.  Sometimes, we pray to have a yoke removed from us and God wants us to transform that yoke into his glory.  I just heard someone pray for some of those who lost jobs to recognize that God is calling them to be
entrepreneurs.  I was immediately struck that I need to focus on the direction God wants me to go when faced with a challenge.  Really, I think I do. However, is my voice too loud or is my vision to defined for me really to see what God has in store.  And we all know God has plans for us all

Tomorrow, we have been presented with the opportunity to align God's will with others as we pray with the nation.  This is a powerful  opportunity.  For Matthew 18:20 tells us "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."  All of us who pray in this collective effort have the chance focus on the blessings as well as receive guidance and direction from the Lord.  In our conversations with God, we need to listen as well as speak.

For those of you looking for others to unite with in prayer, try Girlfriends Pray.  There are holding 3 in-person events for all interested in participating.  The information is on their facebook page which I've linked to their picture.  In addition, Girlfriends Pray will be uniting women in prayer at 7 AM ET and Noon ET.  Again, the information is on their facebook page.

I will be joining their morning call and praying on my own throughout the day, as we are called to pray without ceasing.  1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray continually

Get ready for our National Day of Prayer with a little prayer practice today!
