Verdict - NOT GUILTY
Hebrews 7:25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Today, everyone is discussing the Not Guilty verdict in the Casey Anthony trial. The one thing we know is true is that it is a tragedy that Caylee Anthony's life was taken. So many are upset that the jury is setting her free because they are convinced that she is the cause of her daughter's death. Yet, she has been declared NOT GUILTY. I wonder what she feels like with the knowledge that whatever she did or did not do, she will be set free.
I don't even want to try to evaluate this trial any further. I do want to remind us that we have been set free from our guilt. Jesus came to save us. As John 3:17, “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
What are we going to do with the knowledge that we have been set free? Anything and everything we have done or not done is cast aside when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. We're not simply to just behave as we did with our old ways. We are called use our faith and to serve the Lord. John 12:26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
Clearly, we have work to do as we celebrate the knowledge that we have been set free.
