A Good Talking To

Psalm 30:11-12 ~ 11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, 12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.
I had to give myself a good talking to today. I was spending so much time focused on the things that were wrong or could possible go wrong that I neglected to see all the wonderfulness in my life. Really, some of the things that I think are not perfect haven't even happened yet. God could deliver me to a different outcome. He has before. When I forget where my focus should be, I have more wailing and I wear my sackcloth for far too long. Sometimes, I can't even see that a transformation has occurred when my focus is misplaced. God is the transformer and God has delivered me so many times before. My health and strength are in God's hands along with every aspect of my life.
What I need to do now is get ready for the season and celebrate by making the changes I had promised to do so many times before. No waiting until the new year. I must begin today. Tomorrow I will make my official challenge for the 25 days til Christmas and develop a divine focus every step of the way. Of course, you can join me now and join me again in January when there will be another full on challenge.
If you're like me, you may need to talk to yourself. You may also need to be silent in order to hear that your heart is singing the praises of the Lord. Once you really hear that music, you can't leave it inside and your entire focus has to change as God continues to transform your life. Praise, forever!!
