25 Days to Christmas Fitness
Psalm 95:2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
Welcome to December! Are you ready for the twelfth month of 2011? Have you started getting ready for Christmas? Can you believe December is really here? I can't actually believe it is here so soon and I haven't quite reached my fitness goals. I'm not just talking about my physical fitness. My spiritual fitness can't be overlooked and yes I did have spiritual fitness goals. I did plan to pray more and be in the Word more. While I did better than the year before, I still could be doing better.
In my break from writing, I spent some time in the hospital. I had an episode of Atrial Fibrillation, an abnormal heart rhythm. As you can imagine, it is not good to have an irregular heart beat. To fix if I had a cardioversion which is a procedure where an electrical shock is delivered to the heart to shock my abnormal heart rhythm back to a normal rhythm. Clearly, my health goals are important. I can't do anything on this earth if my health is too poor.
In some sense, I had a little spiritual arrhythmia. I have improved my reading of the Word and prayer life. However, I need a little more improvement. Instead of waiting for the New Year to begin, I'm using the 25 Day to Christmas to improve my fitness.
Focusing on a few aspects of the plan will help get to through to Christmas. Start with the fact that you are so wonderfully blessed.
Blessings – List 5 blessings. Begin each day acknowledging that God continues to bless you. You are blessed in this very moment exactly as you are. God loves you as you are and will work with you as you become even better.
Bible Verse – Meditate on a verse every day. There will be a verse here to use.
Exercise – Move! The goal is to move each day, except Sunday, with purpose and determination. No matter your fitness level, you should challenge yourself. Short intervals of intensity are extremely beneficial.
